The Ringelspitz is the highest mountain in the canton of St. Gallen. Thanks to its completely free position and the great distance from other, higher peaks, it offers an almost unbeatable view from the Wetterstein and the Ötztal mountains to the Valais Weisshorn and the Berner Schneegipfeln, from the Adamello in the south to the dark heights of the Black Forest.
Scheduled tour program
Saturday: Meeting point at 2.00 pm at Reichenau train station. Travel by bus of the mountain sports school on to the Kunkelspass, 1357 m. From here we walk to the Grossalp, 1833 m, and continue to the Ringelspitz hut, 2000 m. Our room, shared dinner and tour briefing. 650 meters in altitude, ascent time approx. 2 hours
Sunday: Climb over Berghüttli and Sandboden to the foot of the Ringelspitz, which we climb over the Mittelgrätli and the airy summit tower in easy climbing. From the Ringelspitz, 3248 m, we descend after a short descent on the Tschepband in the west flank direction Crap Mats to the hut and back to Grossalp and Tamins. Course and return home. 1250 vertical meters, ascent time approx. 5 hours, total walking time approx. 10 hours
